Open House for Beekeepers
Nucleus Colony Overwintering Project
Kawartha Lakes Honey/University of Guelph/OMAFRA
All are invited to attend an open house of the Nucleus Colony Overwintering Project that is a partnership between the University of Guelph and Jerry Jerrard of Kawartha Lakes Honey with funding from OMAFRA and support from the Central Ontario Beekeepers Association, the Ontario Beekeepers Association, and Dancing Bee Equipment.
Please join us at Kawartha Lakes Honey, 465 Colony Rd, Bobcaygeon, ON K0M 1A0 on November 18, between 1 and 3 pm.
You will have the opportunity
- to tour the indoor overwintering facility used in the project,
- to discuss the successes and challenges of the facility with Jerry and the researchers involved,
- to learn about plans to use the facility for queen banking in the future.
This will be a drop-in event to allow for maximum opportunity for direct discussions. Refreshments will be served.
