Big thanks to everyone who took the time to respond to OBA's survey on strategic directions. The survey had 646 responses, 461 of whom are active beekeepers in Ontario. We will be spending the next couple of weeks analyzing the data for a report which we will circulate on the website and in the newsletter. But an early result we can share is that fully 93% of Ontario's beekeepers answered 'yes' to the question: "The OBA has asked both the Federal and Provincial governments to suspend the use of neonicotinoid pesticides until it is proven safe for bees and other pollinators. Do you support this position and the actions the OBA has taken?" 3.99% said "no".
(For those interested in stats, the confidence level of this survey is 95% with a margin of error of 4.2%)
